چکیده
The chair of Operating Systems of Chemnitz University of Technology participated in a joint project “Knowledge Workshop Computing Systems”. As a result, twelve universities across Germany created a total of 145 e-learning modules for the subject of Technical Computer Science. Experiences from this project – in terms of creation of modules based on XML as well as from use in presence teaching at schools – initiated a second project creating a WYSIWIG editor based on the idea of Mr. Volker Fickert, a member of the chair. It also allowed teachers creating learning modules who are not skilled in using XML directly. Experiences from the first project were published in [3]. This paper presents the WYSIWIG editor KML which has been implemented in Java. The editor uses a special markup language named .The paper presents experiences from using this editor for creating elearning content in schools, colleges and professional schools in the Federal State of Saxony in Germany.

A survey of XML languages for augmented reality content
In this paper, a survey of XML languages that are used to store content for augmented reality (AR) applications is presented. The goal of the study was to assess the possibilities for standardising the format of AR content to enable interoperability between different AR browsers. There are AR browsers that use a XML language based on KML, an existing standard, others use their own XML language ...
متن کاملCreating and Publishing Courseware Independent of the Authoring System
The effort for creating content for e-learning applications is high. For authors it is more comfortable to keep their well known authoring system they are familiar with. In this environment they could also reuse existing content. By using modern web standards for presentation and an XML-based courseware format we meet future requirements and are platform independent. We propose a tool chain bas...

In the last few years, map viewers like Google Maps, Microsoft Live Search Maps and Open Street Map as well as virtual earth viewers like Google Earth and Microsoft Virtual Earth had an important impact on the development and dissemination of Internetbased GIS applications. Therefore, there is a vital need for knowledge about the techniques required for exploiting and developing such applicatio...
متن کاملA Semantic Learning Object (SLO)Web-Editor based on Web Ontology Language (OWL) using a New OWL2XSLO Approach
Today, we see a strong demand for real-time information, with a rapid growth of m-learning. We also see that there are many educational resources on the Internet. Learning objects (LOs) are designed as a means of reusing these resources. Most of these LOs are built for e-learning systems based on desktop computers, which prevents their use on mobile devices. A LO is an area that is open to rese...
